Coventry City’s game against Preston North End at the Ricoh Arena this Saturday will be the first of two home meetings with the Deepdale men in the space of a few short weeks.

Graham Westley will also bring his side to CV6 for a Northern Area JPT semi-final on 10 January after their dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Bury on Tuesday night.

That was a win that had the former Stevenage boss believing his message is getting through after a major rebuilding job which saw Sky Blues’ midfielder Adam Barton become just one of a number of players allowed to leave Lancashire.

‘I think the outstanding feature from us was not our tactical or technical play,’ said Westley.

‘I think what you saw was a fight and a team ethic which you probably have not seen from a side of mine since I`ve been at Preston.’

Franck Moussa, in talks with CCFC over extending his contract, will be fit for this this Saturday’s game despite missing training in the early part of this week.
