Coventry City’s final home game of the season has not been a happy place to be for the past few years but Saturday’s goalless draw with Reading was warmly received by an encouraging 22,000+ crowd at the Ricoh Arena.

Against a side that could be in the Premiership next season the Sky Blues forced the issue from start to finish and created a host of good chances by continuing their attacking, passing football of recent weeks.

Marlon King again showed how important he has become to the club with another razor-sharp performance which saw him set up a number of his teammates with chances he would have wished to have himself.

King came within a whisker of breaking the deadlock in the second half but despite the stalemate, warm applause rang around the stadium for much of the 90 minutes and after the game as Andy Thorn and his players sauntered around the pitch in the April sunshine.

Reaction to follow on Vital Coventry.
