‘It is with great regret that we now have no alternative but to consider other arrangements for next season.’

Coventry City chief executive Tim Fisher has confirmed what most supporters had guessed at already.

The club is highly unlikely to be playing at the Ricoh Arena in 2013/14.

Fisher claims that SISU’s offer of further talks with ACL have been rejected and that the club are now ‘locked out’ of the ground which has been their home since 2005.

Early reports suggest that talks are underway with Walsall regarding a switch but City will have to satisfy the footballing authorities that there is a long-term plan in place to return to the club to its home city.

***Update***Lawyers representing ACL have said they are ‘flabbergasted’ by Mr Fisher’s statement and claim he does not have the authority to be making such announcements.

“So that there can be no doubt in the minds of Sky Blues supporters, ACL have not locked the football club out of the Ricoh Arena,” said James Powell of Walker Morris.
