A break is as good as a rest, but not for Reading, who have lost eight of their last nine games immediately following an international break.

The Royals are being sent to Coventry after the current hiatus, with the Sky Blues set to be rested up and raring to go, with no relegation battle to worry them.

“You`ve seen the stats,’ assistant boss Kevin Dillon told the Reading Chronicle.

‘Nearly every time we`ve come back after an international we`ve lost, in the Premier League and this season.’

A host of stars will again be away from the training ground this week and Dillon added: ‘It doesn`t seem to work for us whenever they come back from these international breaks.

‘So we`ve got to think of different things that will make it work.”
