Not D-Day for City but close to it

Bristol City host Coventry City at a sold-out Ashton Gate on Easter Monday in a game that could not be more crucial for either side.

Saturday’s results saw the Robins and the Sky Blues switch places in the Championship table, with Bristol moving to the all-important spot just above the relegation safety line.

They lie one point ahead of the Sky Blues but worse off by thirteen when it comes to goal difference.

Andy Thorn will send his side out to win, backed by 2,000+ travelling fans, but avoiding defeat will still keep them in the thick of the battle for survival.

Both sides will have four games left after this one and the Robins look to have slightly the harder of the run-ins.

They face two sides currently in the top six in the shape of Birmingham City and West Ham while the Sky Blues face one in Southampton.

Coventry also have two home fixtures against sides currently in the bottom six as Millwall and Doncaster Rovers come to the Ricoh Arena.

Thorn’s opposite number Derek McInnes told his club’s official website: “It’s going to be a fantastic atmosphere and I’m sure the players will respond to that.”
