Gary McAllister has been heavily backed to return to Coventry City for a second spell as manager.

7/4 when betting started after Micky Adams was fired, the Scot is now 11/10.

Eric Black also has been linked with taking the job for a second time, especially by reports in Scotland.

Stories from the West Country suggest that the man who sealed Adams’ fate, Gary Johnson of Bristol City, will be approached for the second time about coming to the Ricoh Arena.

Johnson turned down the chance to take over before Adams was appointed.

Another man with Sky Blues’ links, Richard Money remains a strong contender.

The Walsall boss is a 9/2 chance. ‘He’s worked wonders at the Bescot and we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Sky Blues interested in their former Academy Director,’ said bet365’s Steve Freeth.

  • Worked wonders at Chalton, gained more points than Curbishly and got sacked, at least he is an honest bloke. Surely Cov must be looking for a higher profile manger.

  • for me come back Eric Black and finish what you started. His team provided best football seen for years as long as McGinnty does not get near him.

  • Eric Black Was ok at City and treated poorly, But come City fans lets start speaking with our heads and not our hearts

  • Gary McAllister great player, one of the best ever, but manager?
Doubt he will ever be as good a manager as he was a player.

  • Dowie had a fluke run at Palace, got promoted, relegated and left Charlton floundering and is he prepared to accept ‘the new way’ to manage plus the spin?

  • roberts far from left Chalton floundering, he had recorded one more point than Curbs did last season when he was sacked!!! Maybe the board at Chalton wanted Champions League football.
