Coventry City are running the rule over 27-year-old wideman Killian Brennan ahead of the new season as the left-winger aims to earn a deal in England.

Currently with Bohemians’ of Dublin, a club even more cash-strapped than the Sky Blues, Brennan was due to have played for an Irish League XI this weekend in a pre-season tournament in Dublin but has been training with Andy Thorn’s side and appeared in the midweek friendly win against Leamington.

Brennan has made over 100 appearances for Bohemian and set up their goal in last week’s Europa League tie against Olimpia Ljubljana which ended in a narrow aggregate defeat for the Irish side.

Celtic and Derby County were linked with his services last season before he re-signed for his current club.
