As the Sky Blues prepare for their final pre-season game and the only fixture at the Ricoh tomorrow, there is still a positive air surrounding Andy Thorn and his team. With the well documented off the field problems hopefully eased by SISU’s commitment to provide funds until the end of the upcoming season it is now time to support the team.

At this time of the year every team is equal and looking forward to a good season but after listening to fans at the b2net on Tuesday night there does seem to be genuine optimism surrounding the team and the way they play.

Joe Murphy appears a more than adequate replacement for Keiron Westwood, Conor Thomas gave a solid performance in midfield so could be a replacement for Aron Gunnarson who only wanted to play when he felt like it. Goals could be a problem and for that a fit Marlon King could be missed but maybe trying Gary McSheffrey up front with Lukas Jutkiewicz is worth a go.

Coventry City take on Premiership new boys Norwich City tomorrow at the Ricoh before the countdown starts to the mouthwatering first game of the season on August 6 at the Ricoh against Leicester City.
