The Sky Blues suffered their first defeat in their pre-season games when the fell to a late goal from Ross County’s Steven Craig.

With County’s home pitch at Victoria Park, Dingwall still settling down after the installation of under soil heating which was required after their promotion to the Scottish Premier League(SPL), the game was played at the home of Inverness Clachnacuddin. Clach play in the Highland League which is semi-pro and consists of 18 teams in an area from Aberdeen to Inverness and up to Brora and Wick.

City made eight changes from the win at Brora Rangers on Tuesday night with only John Fleck, Roy O’Donovan and Conor Thomas playing in both games

The Sky Blues finish their short tour of the North of Scotland on Saturday when they play Inverness Caledonian Thistle, kick off 3pm.

Caley Thistle came into existence in the mid nineties when Inverness Thistle and Inverness Caledonian and it was hoped Inverness Clachnacuddin were asked to make one club so that a team from Inverness could be elected to the Scottish Football League (SFL). Clach decided to remain in the Highland League while Caley Thistle have made their way from Division 3 to the SPL.

This is the same journey now facing the new Glasgow Rangers.
