Coventry City will be without Chris Dagnall and Chris Maguire for Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Hartlepool United after they were refused permission to play by parent clubs Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

Manager Steven Pressley is already without his first choice strike duo Callum Wilson (suspended) and Leon Clarke (injured) so the absence of two more attacking players will prompt a tactical reshuffle for the trip to the North East.

Earlier in the week we speculated as to whether the Sky Blues will adopt a 4-6-0 formation and that possibility may have moved a step closer with the news that Dagnall and Maguire cannot play.

Ahead of the game, Hartlepool winger Jack Compton believes his side should have plenty of confidence after some good cup results already this season.

‘We’ve already beaten three League One clubs this season, so it’s definitely there for us if we can play as know we can.’
