Charlton Athletic and manager Alan Pardew parted company on Saturday evening, in the wake of a slide down the table for the Addicks.
The final straw for the club’s board came with a 5-2 home hammering by Sheffield United.
‘My record coming to this club has been good, but it’s been difficult here,’ said Pardew.
‘When I arrived they were on the slide and I haven’t been able to stop that.’
