Coventry City return to the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday night for a fixture against Swansea City that they hope will kickstart their season on home soil.
Saturday’s win at Sheffield Wednesday was a timely boost after two home defeats on the trot but will count for little if the Sky Blues fail once again in front of their own fans.
Manager Chris Coleman knows the result is all important and told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: ‘If our supporters are going to expect a pretty game from us then maybe they shouldn’t turn up.
‘It may not be a pretty game on Tuesday but I don’t care about that. I just care about getting another result.
‘We try to entertain (at home) and we’ve got done on sucker-punches.’
The visitors will be without star man Ferrie Bodde, who sustained a serious injury against Birmingham City on Friday to end a week where he had been linked with a host of Premier League clubs.
‘Football is a cruel, cruel game,’ said manager Roberto Martinez.
‘It is not good news especially the form he’s in.
‘Ferrie is a big player for us as he is important in the way we do certain things. The way we play, we rely on Ferrie’s distribution.
‘He felt it straight away. Ferrie went into a challenge and he felt the knee open up and he put the whole body into that knee.
‘Ferrie must be proud what he has helped Swansea achieve so far this season and now the club must give him all the support we can for his recovery.’
Also missing for the visitors will be goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopolous, on-loan from the Sky Blues and unable to play in this fixture.
‘This game will be strange for me,’ he told the Evening Post.
‘I have never been in this position before. I want to play every game so it’s frustrating to lose my shirt but rules are rules.
‘It has come at the wrong time and I wish I could play, but I aim to come back for the next game on the back of a good result.’
