Coventry City manager Steven Pressley, having addressed the players he does not want to be with the club next season, now turns his attentions to those he would like to bring in (transfer embargo and administration not withstanding).

The manager himself will clearly know a lot more about potential signings from Scotland, whether currently playing north of the border or down in England.

Pressley’s former club Falkirk have a number of young players who built up a big reputation during his time there. Striker Lyle Taylor, for instance, making his mark with a hatful of goals this season.

Down south, former St Mirren midfielder Stephen McGinn may be the kind of player in City’s mind. The 24-year-old has been told he can leave Watford and impressed in League One on loan at Shrewsbury earlier this year.

Pressley will also work alongside Steve Waggott to bring in new faces and that allows for a wider net to be cast. Last summer it was presumably Waggott’s contacts that saw William Edgenguele and Kevin Malaga arrive at the club.
