Kevin Kyle’s first month on loan at Hartlepool has ended, with the North-East club keen to keep the Scottish striker for longer.

Director of sport Chris Turner told his club’s official website: ‘Kevin was obviously a great asset during the month he has spent at the club already and we are keen to keep him here if possible.

‘We have been speaking to Coventry and remain confident that we can retain Kevin.

‘He’s been happy playing his football here, he has settled in well and if we can bring him back then we will do that.’

Kyle has netted three times in seven games for the League One side and City will be hoping that he continues to impress both Hartlepool and other potential suitors ahead of a possible permanent move in January.

‘Kevin wants to stay there and there is no point in him coming back here because he is not going to play,’ was Chris Coleman’s blunt verdict on the player’s future at the Ricoh Arena.
