Coventry City have released a statement on their official website following the judgement in the case brought by the club owners against Coventry City Council.

The judge in the case delivered a brief verdict on Monday morning which went firmly against SISU who say they will apply for leave to appeal the decision.

The club statement goes on to say that at the Ricoh Arena ‘there is no realistic prospect of any sports franchise or ACL being able to generate sufficient revenue to be commercially viable’ and that ‘now, more than ever, the new stadium is the only viable commercial option.’

Few, if any, have faith that the new stadium is a realistic prospect but where now (physically and spiritually) for Coventry City FC is the question being posed by all supporters.

***Update*** With SISU stating their intention to appeal it means a further wait for the dust to settle. Tim Fisher has been quoted as saying that a return to the Ricoh is a slim possibility but has reiterated the new stadium approach.
