Coventry City will play their part in the promotion battle in their final two games of the Championship season as they face Reading at the Ricoh Arena and then travel to play Norwich City at Carrow Road.

With the Royals looking to secure their play-off place and the Canaries hoping to gain automatic promotion there is plenty for City’s opponents to play for but for the Sky Blues themselves if the players are as keen as they say to have Andy Thorn as their next permanent manager.

“I think it is important that there is stability at the club and Andy and H bring that,” said Lukas Jutkiewicz, the latest player to speak up for Thorn when quoted in the Coventry Telegraph on Wednesday.

“They know the lads really well and have a really good understanding with each other and I can`t see why they wouldn`t be appointed full-time.’

With Reading having sold over 2,500 tickets for the game and the Norwich clash set for live TV coverage should their season still be in the balance, City have the perfect opportunity to finish their own campaign on a high note.

Speaking after the 3-2 defeat by Sheffield United on Easter Monday, Reading defender Andy Griffin told BBC Berkshire: “Sometimes in life and in football you do need a little bit of a wake-up call and hopefully that is it.

“We’ve been on a fantastic run. We were a team with a certain mentality, a certain belief and we still are.”
