The club has announced that Andy Thorn has accepted the position of the new Coventry City manager, replacing Aidy Boothroyd.
Club Chairman Ken Dulieu also confirmed that the decision was the unanimous decision of the new Sky Blues board.
Andy Thorn thoroughly deserves the chance to shape the team for the future and to announce the decision before Saturdays’ last home game of the season is a very positive move.
It is of course now up to the players to back their words with deeds on the field, the board off the field together with all supporters who have the clubs’ interest at heart.
In the short time Andy Thorn has had the job, the change in the way the team plays has been so positive. If his set of results were calculated over 46 games we would probably have been in or around the play-offs so let us all hope this is the start of a better future for the club.
***Update***Thorn has hit the ground running with contracts being offered to Marlon King, Keiren Westwood and Aron Gunnarsson in person by the new man on Thursday afternoon.
