Time To Breathe For Sky Blues

After five games in fourteen days, Coventry City get a full week to prepare for a tough trip to face Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Easily the best side to come to Sixfields this season, when Uwe Rosler’s men gained a 2-0 success at the end of September, the Bees have continued their excellent campaign despite the loss of their impressive German manager to Wigan Athletic.

Now with Mark Warburton in charge, Brentford gained a vital win at the weekend when they defeated fellow promotion candidates Leyton Orient at the Matchroom Stadium. That made it four games unbeaten and also without conceding a goal.

The Sky Blues, however (a top ten side themselves of course without their points deduction) have turned in some impressive displays against the top League One teams this season, drawing at Wolves and Preston and winning stylishly at both Rotherham and MK Dons.

After returning to the side against Port Vale, defender Cyrus Christie told the official club website that confidence is high among the City ranks going into the Brentford game.

‘That will be a different match because they will be looking to get it down and play.’
