Having seen Nathan Cameron have a goal disallowed in Saturday’s game at Watford, Coventry City boss Andy Thorn has lamented the lack of goals from all areas of the pitch this season as his side look to mount an escape from relegation which the manager says would be his greatest achievement in football.

‘We haven’t scored one from centre-half this season so we have missed that aspect of the game I reckon,’ he told the official club website.

‘I think we have missed goals in a few more areas as well.’

City’s midfield especially has failed to contribute sufficient goals to the cause with Gary Deegan the top scorer from that position with three. That may have been acceptable if they were providing plenty of goals for the frontmen but the Sky Blue player with the most assists this season is Cyrus Christie with four.
