Bournemouth may have a reputation as a place to go to retire but Coventry City’s hopes of leaving League One at the first attempt remain well and truly active after yet another superb away win for the Sky Blues on Tuesday.
Leon Clarke and a Carl Baker penalty did the damage to put the visitors within five points of their hosts and also a top-six place.
It also means a 10th victory on the road this season and Lee Carsley and his players will know that they simply HAVE to start winning games at home in order that their hard work on their travels does not go to waste.
That challenge starts again on Saturday against a Swindon side who currently lie in the play-off places but who have experienced some managerial turmoil of their own recently and who lost at home to struggling Bury on Tuesday night.
Carsley handed a debut to new loan signing Aaron Martin at the back, saw David Bell make his first-team return as a substitute and also had Cody McDonald at his disposal on the bench. The striker, recalled from his loan at Gillingham, came on for Clarke in injury-time.

***Update*** Two notable landmarks achieved in this game as the Sky Blues make it double figures for away wins in the league this season and Leon Clarke notches his 20th goal of the campaign.
Clarke told the official CCFC website afterwards: “It was more important that we got the three points.”
