Mark Robins pulled no punches when speaking about Coventry City’s game against Oldham Athletic at the weekend, calling it ‘ugly’ despite his pleasure at the last-minute goal that gave the Sky Blues a vital three points.

With MK Dons coming to the Ricoh Arena this Tuesday night will the visitors’ style suit City that bit better than the usual hustle and bustle of League One?

Karl Robinson’s side are currently third in the table after a narrow win against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday and the Dons boss was delighted with the quality of the football played in the opening 45 minutes.

‘First half, that’s as good a 45 minutes as you’re ever going to see in League One,’ he said.

‘When we’re that good though we need to be more clinical and take our chances when they come along, which we never did.’

Robins was unhappy with the inability of his players to keep hold of the ball against the Latics and will again have to decide which combination of loan players he names in his squad after Callum Ball missed out at Boundary Park.
