Sky Blues heading for happier times?

There is no doubt that City are in their strongest position since leaving the Premiership, with the right people in place both in terms of the management team and those responsible for the day-to-day running of the club.

Paul Fletcher seems to be the go-ahead, ‘can do’ type of person the club have been crying out for for a number of years.

His handling of the half-time hotshots cancellation was masterly, with his appearance in goal against the disappointed kids a superb bit of PR.

On the pitch, the away form has been below-par but unlike a number of seasons past, anyone going to watch a City game these days gets total commitment from their side and the prospect of goals, no matter who the opposition are.

That, together with good home form, is enough to keep the majority of fans happy and most punters would be happy enough for City to be a regular top ten side in the Championship for the next couple of seasons.

The new found confidence is reflected in the recent crowds at the Ricoh. To get close on 20,000 for what was basically a mid-table clash against Burnley last week is massively encouraging, given that the same game at Highfield Road could reasonably be expected to attract around 12-13,000.
