After Tuesday night’s results went their way, Coventry City continue their unlikely chase for a play-off place at home to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

Sixth position in the Championship seems up for grabs with the likes of Cardiff City and Sheffield United in inconsistent form and a win on Saturday would lift the Sky Blues onto 52 points ahead of their home clash with the Bluebirds on Tuesday night.

Plymouth arrive in CV6, 7 points adrift of safety following their midweek defeat at the hands of Queens Park Rangers and having lost 12 of their 17 away games.

Boss Paul Mariner felt his side played well at Loftus Road but were undone by careless defending.

‘We can’t keep shooting ourselves in the foot like that,’ he said afterwards.
