Coventry City travel to Sixfields on Tuesday night to contest the Jackson Grundy Cup with their League Two opponents Northampton Town.

Relegated last season, the Cobblers will be looking to bounce straight back and will be hoping for a better display than in the weekend defeat by Corby Town.

‘I’m more disappointed with how we did defensively more than anything else,’ assistant manager Ian Sampson after that game.

‘I don’t just mean the back four, I mean the whole team.

‘Our shape and our reaction to turn-over ball was not good, and that meant we were constantly putting ourselves under pressure.

‘It was a collectively poor performance defensively, and really we didn’t do enough in the final third either.’
