Coventry City’s small shareholders have been outlining their feelings about the offer made to them by the club’s new owners.

The offer of 1p a share comes amid talk that without gaining 90% of the total, administration could be back on the cards.

Legendary former boss Jimmy Hill told the Telegraph: ‘My hope would be there would be a purchaser with greater generosity and better ideals.

‘I’m afraid it’s creating wealth for them and diminishing one’s own wealth.’

‘A gun is being held to our heads,’ added former director Michael French.

‘If we don’t hand over our shares the club will go into administration.

‘We are in the hands of big business, which I think is terrible and it is a shame for the small shareholders.’
