Former Coventry City loan goalkeeper Stephen Bywater admitted luck was on his side when making a crucial late save from a Michael Doyle shot in Saturday’s 2-1 win for Derby County at the Ricoh Arena.
‘It was lucky,’ said the 25-year-old.
‘It was deflected and I managed to kick it out. But their goal was a bit lucky because it went through my legs and I couldn’t move my feet quick enough.
‘Those are hard for a goalkeeper, where it is right near your legs.
‘They got a bit of luck with that but I got some luck at the end with the save I made.’
Bywater added: ‘It was good to go back there and to win was even better for me personally.
‘I know a couple of the lads at Coventry – they have got a good squad and I was just happy to go there and do my best.’
