Coventry City manager Micky Adams hit out at referee Lee Probert after Saturday’s defeat by Derby County.

‘We had a stonewall penalty when Dean Leacock brought down Leon McKenzie in the first half but the referee said he was not in a position to see it,’ said Adams after the 2-1 defeat.

‘But that is Mr Probert – we always seem to have problems with him.’

The result made it three defeats in a row for the Sky Blues but Adams added: ‘I was pleased with the performance and I did not think we deserved to lose.

‘Within the dressing room confidence is not what it should be at the moment but I have been in this position before at this football club.

‘It is a time for people with big characters.’

  • It was another disappointing afternoon when players with bottle were needed we fell apart in the last quarter. Shouldn’t keep harping on but we do miss Gary.
Duffy was poor yesterday and at fault on both goals-oh well that’s watching City.

  • I thought we were much improved and for once- unlucky. Duffy was poor(but you don’t need me to tell you that!) and I agree with Micky about Probert…I will never forgive him for Plymouth away a couple of years ago. Inept is the kindest thing I can say about him. We need wins though…and soon.
