The Sky Blues look to build on last weekend’s slightly shaky win over nine-man Sheffield Wednesday in the first of two tough away trips within four days.

QPR have won their last three games, including an excellent victory at league leaders Cardiff last time out.

Vital Quotes:

QPR boss John Gregory: ‘It is difficult to measure how much room we have for improvement, and I don’t like to make predictions about these things.

‘But we have come a long way in the 10 games since I have been here. I always said I would sit down after 10 games and make a calculated assessment.’

City manager Micky Adams: ‘This is a vital time for us and we need to get everyone fit and in top form.

‘Given that we have not pulled up any trees so far, we are in a handy position at the minute, just waiting for a run to happen.

‘Everyone in the league has had a decent run at some stage but we have not had one yet, so let’s hope it comes soon.

‘We saw the benefits of a run at the end of last season and I am sure we will get a run sooner rather than later, hopefully starting tomorrow.’

Queens Park Rangers Team News:

Gareth Ainsworth is out after damaging ankle ligaments against Cardiff.

Marc Bircham may also miss out, but Martin Rowlands and Kevin Gallen should be back after injury.

Player to watch: Jimmy Smith

One of two highly-rated Chelsea youngsters on loan at Loftus Road, 19-year-old midfielder Smith has netted five times in nine games for the R’s.

Coventry City Team News:

Darren Currie is set to make his debut after signing on loan from Ipswich.

Stern John should be back after injury but Don Hutchison will be out until the New Year.

Player to watch: Stephen Hughes

The former skipper could come in from the cold after Hutchison’s injury and will be looking to prove a point to both Micky Adams and any interested clubs looking to buy him in the New Year.
