Coventry City manager Steven Pressley is looking to follow the pattern of last year’s pre-season with the Sky Blues following a training camp abroad with a week of friendlies which will allow the Scot to mix and match his team.

The Sky Blues will play Newport County, Watford, Bristol Rovers and Stevenage in the space of five days, the Watford game taking place on neutral territory at the home of Boreham Wood FC.

‘We started the season in a very positive manner, hitting the ground running, and we want to replicate that again.’

For Pressley it is the first time since he came to the club that he is not having to cope with a points deduction and, depending of course on transfer business, he will be hopeful of his side making a push for the play-offs.

Off-field disruptions continue but City’s start to last season showed that they are capable of putting those to one side.
