Chris Coleman has prepared his Coventry City side for a tought test when they face Watford on Saturday.

‘We have to learn to adapt to the way the opposition play and especially tomorrow because it will happen a lot,’ he told The Coventry Telegraph ahead of the game.

‘They are going to throw the ball in from every angle and hit long balls and be right in our face.

‘They play a high tempo game and won’t allow us to pass and we have got to match that, without playing that type of football, because we can’t.

‘After that, if we can get the ball down and pass it, hopefully we will create problems for them. But we have to make sure that we stand up to whatever they throw at us.’

The Hornets are looking for a long overdue win to keep their hopes of a top two finish alive.

Boss Aidy Boothroyd is looking for a reaction to last week’s defeat at Hull City and said: ‘It was the third anniversary of me taking over this week, and that was without doubt the worst performance during my time here!

‘But I can now use that performance as a stick to beat the players – prick the conscience of one or two because that one hurt.

‘They don’t owe me; they owe themselves one and the fans.

‘That wasn’t good enough. I never brush anything under the carpet because, if you do, then you start deluding yourself.’
