Kevin Kyle is back at Coventry City after a loan spell with Hartlepool and the League One club’s caretaker manager Chris Turner is likely to look elsewhere for a new striker during the transfer window.
“Kyle has had the 93 days on loan now and that`s as long as we can keep him for,’ Turner, also Hartlepool’s director of football, told The Journal.
‘It`s left us short in attack and that is something we have to address in this window.
“You can`t go for half a season with just three strikers, but that is all we`ve got at the moment and we`ll definitely try to bring someone in.
‘Of course it`s going to be a risk, signing a player is always a gamble, but it can be more difficult in January because clubs don`t want to lose players midway through the season.
‘I don`t expect football is going to be awash with transfers because of the financial situation.”
