Coventry City have accepted an offer from Queens Park Rangers for left-back Gary Borrowdale to make his loan move to Loftus Road a permanent arrangement.

The R’s will pay an undisclosed fee for the 23-year-old despite him not making an appearance as yet for the West London club.

After snapping up the player from his former club Crystal Palace, then City boss Iain Dowie said in July 2007: ‘I made it clear when I joined the club that we needed strength and depth in all areas.

‘I believe Gary can certainly help us to achieve that.’

Borrowdale made 26 appearances for the Sky Blues but was usurped by Danny Fox after his move from Walsall in January.
