Coventry City are again being credited with an interest in local boy and Shrewsbury Town centre-half Kelvin Langmead.
The former Preston man would fit the bill of a young, hungry player who could possible be prised away on loan ahead of the January transfer window.
Port Vale meanwhile are rumoured to be looking at a loan deal for their former star Chris Birchall.
Manager Dean Glover told The Sentinel: ‘He’s a name that has been brought up before and he’s somebody we might be interested in if he’s available.
‘I’ve not made contact with Coventry, or with Chris himself, and I think he’s away with Trinidad at the moment.
‘I don’t know if we will make contact and I don’t know what his situation is at Coventry, although he has not been in favour there.’
