Coventry City should have a new manager in place by the time the transfer window opens at the beginning of June, with a, very short, short-list of contenders now emerging.
‘We will be stepping things up next week,’ chairman Ray Ranson told the Coventry Telegraph, with attention now being focused on three particular names.
Of those, Tony Mowbray seems more and more to be the main contender, having made his interest known to the club.

Alan Irvine meanwhile continues to feature prominently in the betting market to replace Chris Coleman but he is under contract at Sheffield Wednesday, who have made no indication about being approached to let the Scot have talks at the Ricoh Arena, although Monday’s resignation of the man who took him to Hillsborough, chairman Lee Strafford, may see another twist in the tale.
