Coventry City face a huge week in their bid to stay in touch with the League One play-off places as they travel to face Bournemouth before a home game against Swindon, both teams currently in the top six.

Saturday’s reverse at home to Crewe left the Sky Blues eight points behind the play-off positions and knowing that their final twelve games must produce something like eight wins.

Going in their favour for Tuesday night is City’s fantastic away form and Bournemouth’s weekend slip-up at home to Sheffield United.

‘We knew we were in a really difficult spell of games,’ boss Eddie Howe told BBC Radio Solent.

‘We are always disappointed to lose and that’s consecutive defeats which will hurt everybody badly but we really need to bounce back on Tuesday.’

Lee Carsley, meanwhile, remains the second favourite to become the next permanent manager of the club but Keith Curle is far and away the bookmakers’ choice to succeed Mark Robins.
