Friday’s Mirror links Coventry City with a bid for Carlisle United goalkeeper Kieran Westwood.

A £400,000 bid is being mooted for the player, 23, who has made over 150 appearances for the Cumbrian side.

The report comes as City await developments in their pursuit of Kasper Schmeichel.

New Manchester City manager Mark Hughes may yet prove to be an admirer of the Dane and decide to keep him at Eastlands.

In a similar vein, the Sky Blues look to have moved away from Freddy Eastwood as a target, with Heidar Helguson and Gregorz Rasiak the names in the frame up front.

One Reply to “Is Carlisle keeper City’s Schmeichel alternative?”

  • He’s a great keeper and weel worth £400,000. I would have thought Carlisle would have wanted more for him.
