The Sky Blues have completed their first signing of the summer and also widened the scope of their search for a new goalkeeper and someone to bang the ball into the net.

David Bell – The Sky Blues have made an offer for the Luton midfielder and left the ball firmly in the Hatters’ court with chairman Ray Ranson confirming recently that an increased bid will not be forthcoming.

Guillaume Beuzelin – Done deal! The French playmaker joined Coventry City at the start of the week.

Carlos Bocanegra – ‘Totally untrue! Chris (Coleman) has never once mentioned his name to me,’ was Ranson’s to-the-point summing up of a link with the USA international recently.

Neil Eardley – Highly-rated and versatile, Oldham Athletic’s 19-year-old Wales international has been linked with City this week.

Freddy Eastwood – Cardiff have expressed an interest in the striker although manager Dave Jones said this week: “We have looked at Freddy, but I believe he will go elsewhere.” That maybe not to the Ricoh Arena however with the Sky Blues taking an interest in Heidar Helguson and Gregorz Rasiak as alternatives.

Anthony Gerrard – The young Walsall player could follow in the footsteps of former team-mates Dan Fox and Scott Dann according to reports this week.

Chris Maguire – ‘I haven’t heard anything officially and I’m not even interested in leaving Aberdeen,’ was what the young striker had to say this week about a possible move south.

Kieran Westwood – The Carlisle United goalkeeper has emerged as an alternative to Kasper Schmeichel.
