Coventry City manager Micky Adams takes his side to Edgar Street on Tuesday night for the club’s first ever competitive meeting with Hereford United.

The Carling Cup 1st Round tie should see the likes of Jay Tabb get their chance to impress Adams, while Moroccan newcomer Faysal El Idrissi may also start after his cameo against Leicester City on Friday helped City turn in a much-improved second-half display.

‘It was a pleasure to play my first game here,’ said the 28-year-old.

‘I had to wait for two and a half weeks for my clearance to come through from Dubai and it was exciting for me to play English football.

‘I wanted to make a good start to show the manager and the fans that I am a good player and can bring a lot to this team.

‘They have lost Gary McSheffrey who was a very important player for them, a very good attacking player. It’s a shame for the club to lose him but they made good money, which I think was important.

‘And now he has gone everybody has to try hard to make this as good a team as possible.’

Hereford have won two and lost two of their League Two games so far after returning to the Football League from the Conference last season.
