James McPake’s performances while on loan at Hibernian have led to continued talk of a permanent move to Easter Road this summer but may also have caught the attention of their Edinburgh rivals Hearts.

The Scotsman reports on Saturday that the central defender, in line to make his international debut for Northern Ireland on Saturday night, is wanted by both capital clubs.

Coventry City are looking for a fee of around £100,000 for the player and would also save double that amount in wages next season if McPake left.

Much depends of course on the future of Richard Keogh and the South Wales Echo believes that Cardiff City will come back with an improved offer for the Sky Blues talisman after having an £800,000 bid knocked back.

Former loan star Oliver Norwood meanwhile is reported to have told Manchester United he will not be signing a new contract at Old Trafford.

While Andy Thorn would certainly be keen to have the midfielder back at the Ricoh Arena he is being linked with a move to the Championship for next season.
