Coventry City will come into contact with a number of old boys when they drop into League One next season including a popular striker who many felt did not get a fair crack of the whip at the Ricoh Arena.

The Sky Blues snapped up Robbie Simpson from Cambridge United at the beginning of the 2007/08 season and he quickly made himself popular with supporters with his whole-hearted efforts to make the step up from non-league football.

He left for Huddersfield two years later having notched up only 4 goals for City but having made 37 of his 61 appearances from the bench.

Having ended the 2011/12 season at Oldham Athletic, Simpson has been offered a new deal by Latics manager Paul Dickov.
