Coventry City FC and Coventry City Council have both issued positive statements after talks held last Thursday over the ownership of the Ricoh Arena and all of the other issues that arise from that.

With the football club having withheld rent payments it seems that all of the interested parties have now realised that dialogue, and not posturing, is the only way forward to reach a solution that will benefit everybody.

Council leader John Mutton told The Telegraph: ‘I felt it was a very positive meeting and avenues are now being explored which hopefully will lead to a brighter future for the club and a more profitable future for the Ricoh Arena.

These discussions are ongoing but I`ve asked the football club to keep fans informed.’
