Friday Night Lights As City Face Posh

|

A bump in the road at Burton Albion on Saturday ended Coventry City’s unbeaten run in League One but it was a game of fine margins, decided only by a Jordan Willis own goal against Nigel Clough’s side.

Still sitting in the top ten of the division the Sky Blues face a challenging test on Friday evening when Peterborough United come to the Ricoh Arena.

The sub-plot to the fixture is the minor spat conducted by Mark Robins and Steve Evans last season when Evans was still in charge at Mansfield but for all his abrasive qualities the Scot produces sides that invariably challenge for promotion and looks to be doing the same with the Posh.

Corresponding matches over the past few years have produced some crackers, City winning 3-2 at the Ricoh on three separate occasions since league fixtures resumed between the pair in 2009 after a break of some 45 years.
