Ex-City Duo Doubtful For Clash

Both Freddie Sears and Clinton Morrison are doubtful for the game against their former club Coventry City at Sixfields on Sunday afternoon.

Colchester United boss Joe Dunne is battling an injury and suspension crisis with eight first-team men currently in danger of missing the trip to Northampton.

Sears appeared briefly for City in a loan spell while Morrison made nearly 80 league starts for the club between 2008 and 2010, scoring 21 goals.

Pre-season favourites for relegation from League One, the U’s currently lie 8th in the table with 8 points from their 5 games.

They were, however, beaten by leaders Orient last weekend before suffering a heavy defeat in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in midweek.

For the Sky Blues the game is a real opportunity to build on their positive start to the season and also a transfer deadline that saw Steven Pressley hold on to all of his key players despite interest from Huddersfield Town in Cyrus Christie and Sheffield United in strikers Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson.
