Chris Coleman, sacked by Coventry City at the end of the season, is in line to face the Sky Blues in 2010/11 after holding talks about becoming the new Crystal Palace manager.

Having saved the Eagles from oblivion, the club’s new owners seem keen to appoint a new boss with links to the club and Coleman remains a popular figure at Selhurst Park from his playing days.

The Welshman maintains a high profile in the media despite a disappointing spell in charge at the Ricoh Arena and will be part of ITV’s commentary and pundit team at the World Cup.

In a classic example of the managerial merry-go-round, Coleman is set to replace Paul Hart, who is now favourite to become the new Hull City manager in succession to Iain Dowie, Coleman’s predecessor at Coventry!
