Derby County manager Nigel Clough has no plans to include James Bailey in his squad after the midfielder returned to Pride Park following his final game on loan at Coventry City.

That leaves the way open for a move back to CV6 in January for the 24-year-old who Clough feels ‘hasn’t really kicked on’ during his time with the Rams.

‘We still think he’s got the potential to play in the Championship but Coventry are still a big club and they’ve got every chance of getting back up this season,’ he told the Derby Telegraph.

‘Do you know the way to MK?’

Bailey, along with David McGoldrick, will miss Saturday’s trip to MK Dons for which the visitors will be backed by over 3,000 fans with more tickets having now been made available.

Dons skipper Dean Lewington admitted that the dressing room was quite a lively place to be after his side’s surprise home defeat by Walsall on Boxing Day.

Quoted in the Milton Keynes Citizen he said: ‘The pleasing thing is the isn`t a lot of time before the next game.

‘After a bad performance, you want to bounce back and correct it as quick as you can so it`s a bit of a blessing to have a game in two days.’
