Aidy Boothroyd will become the new Coventry City manager today after a compensation figure was agreed with Colchester United for his services and following talks with chairman Ray Ranson.

Aged just 39 and with a wealth of coaching experience before his move into management with Watford, Boothroyd has slipped slightly below the radar in recent seasons after previously being hailed as the next managerial big thing for guiding the Hornets to the Premier League.

Mr Ranson has been looking for a new man to work with the majority of the exsisting Sky Blues squad and add slowly to it rather than rip everything up and start again and clearly feels that Boothroyd fits the bill.

More to come on Vital Coventry.
