Coventry City and Watford fought out their second goalless draw of the season at Vicarage Road on Saturday, a result that moves the Sky Blues up one place in the Championship but still four points from safety.

Both sides had opportunities to win the game and Andy Thorn’s men were denied a first-half opener by the officials.

Alex Nimely and his replacement Cody McDonald both looked lively but could not find the breakthrough and City’s long wait for an away win now takes itself to Cardiff in midweek.

With Bristol City held at bottom club Portsmouth and Doncaster losing at home to Derby this could be seen as a point gained but, with less than ten games to play it may turn out to be a missed opportunity.

Reaction to follow on Vital Coventry.
