Reading have agreed an £800,000 compensation packagae with Watford that will make Brendan Rodgers the new manager at the Madejski Stadium.

Rodgers was formerly Academy Manager at Reading and has been strongly linked with the job since Steve Coppell stood down.

Elsewhere in the division, Swansea boss Roberto Martinez is in big demand, with both Wigan and Celtic keen to make him their new manager.

Cardiff meanwhile have rejected a £3.5m bid from Birmingham for defender Roger Johnson (Dann a Blues target?)
