Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City has spelled the end of Brian Laws’ reign as Sheffield Wednesday manager, with the Owls becoming the fifth Championship club this season to part company with their boss.

‘We believe a change at this time can deliver fresh energy and direction,’ said chairman Lee Strafford.

Wednesday’s only win in their last dozen games was against the Sky Blues, a 2-0 reverse for Chris Coleman’s men in October.
