Coventry City’s first signing of pre-season is poised to be attacking midfielder Danny Swanson, a free agent after the expiry of his Peterborough United contract.

The 27-year-old Scot, due for a medical with the Sky Blues on Wednesday, could be joined by Hibernian central defender Paul Hanlon according to reports north of the border.

After Blair Adams left for Notts County on Tuesday two of his teammates from the end of last season have also joined new clubs.

Port Vale have signed winger Mark Marshall while midfielder Franck Moussa makes his move back into the Championship with Charlton Athletic.
